ADB Clean Energy Program
ADB’s Clean Energy Program seeks to increase energy efficiency and the adoption of low carbon technologies, and to improve access to energy for the poor and remote households in Asia Pacific. It has become one of ADB’s highest priorities, reaching 27% of total approved loans in 2008. In 2011, ADB reached its annual clean energy investment target of $2 billion, and its $2.1 billion investment in the same year may generate 3,298 GWh equivalent/year of energy savings and mitigate 13.7 million tons of carbon dioxide equivalent annually.
