ADB-OECD Anti-Corruption Initiative for Asia and the Pacific

The Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD) has joined ADB in the ADB-OECD Anti-Corruption Initiative for Asia-Pacific. Discussed at a workshop on Combating Corruption in the Asian and Pacific Economies in 1999, the initiative was officially launched at the second workshop in Seoul, Korea in December 2000. The initiative’s Anti-Corruption Action Plan for Asia and the Pacific identifies concrete steps to address corruption with respect to public service, business, and civil society. An Action Plan was agreed upon at the third conference in November 2001, initially endorsed by 17 countries and economies across the Asia and Pacific region. Currently, 28 countries have endorsed the Plan.
