ADB and Human Trafficking in Asia

ADB realizes the need for increased worldwide attention to address human trafficking. Driven by poverty, inequity, natural disasters, and the effects of globalization, among others, impoverished people, especially women and children, have become increasingly vulnerable to trafficking issues. ADB focuses on preventive measures and monitors the impact that increased cross-border infrastructure and greater regional economic integration has on human trafficking. ADB supports a range of activities designed to raise awareness of trafficking issues among DMCs.
